Well, you're probably missing the right MySQL Connector ODBC.

PIM Xtreme uses (and installs with every installer) the MySQL ODBC Connector in order to access to the databse.
Older versions of PIM Xtreme used the MySQL Connector ODBC 3.51, but since PIM Xtreme 0.8 the MySQL Connector ODBC 5.1 is used. However, this new version should be installed along with PIM Xtreme.

Try checking at Programs and Features in Control Panel, and see if you have that connector (and that version 5.1) installed under the name "MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.1"
If not you can try re-installing PIM Xtreme 0.8 (no need to uninstall).
Or, you can download the connector separately and install it. It's REALLY simple.
You download it here: MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.1 and follow the installation wizard

I know some people had trouble with the Connector on Vista, I'm not sure why yet.

Hope it helps. Please keep me posted!

The errors that appear after the "Upgrade database" message are raised because some things are missing in your database (because it's not updated ).

About the problem with PIM Xtreme Database Manager, it's probably because of the MySQL Connector ODBC as well. Go to the Options window and make sure the "Driver" value says "{MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver}" (the same as the Login screen).

After upgrading the database you should be able to use PIM Xtreme without problem (I hope so hehe).

Regards!

Okay, it won't upgrade (so say the error messages) and yet I need to upgrade to make the error messages go away? Kind of circular, no? Is there a way I can revert to the old version? I need to get to the data in my database soon. I'm still open to making 0.8.0 work, but I need to get at my data reasonably soon. Thanks again for the diligent support.

Oh yes, by the way, the options menu shows the correct driver. Interestingly enough, the tasks (which I don't need) updated fine - the problems (and my critical data, of course) are in contacts and notes.

Mmm... did you make sure that your password for "root" user is also set in the Options window of PIM Xtreme Database Manager?

Ask whenever you want! I'll try to help
